A rare complete set of 32 large sized chess pieces believed to be from the 1920s. Beautifully cast with fine detail (There have since been copies made with less detail and smaller in height)in heavy plaster and coated in shiny resin. The lighter set is cream in tone and the darker set is in an aged brown and black marbled leather finish.
The under sides are lined in green wool felt. Areas of fault are repair to the 2x ivory bishops heads (which had been off at some point)-these repairs are decent. One of these bishops has a small piece of his left hand missing. Also a small part of the left ear is missing from one of the ivory knights horses(hardly noticeable as the ears are very small)Please note there is no board just the figures/pieces.
King 14 cm high x5cm wide. Queen 13.5cm high x5cm wide.
